StartIt is a hot sunny Sunday morning and you visited your grandmother for lunch. Grandmother: Can you please water the plants in my garden until lunch is ready? As you walk into the garden, you notice that some of the plants are wilting. You quickly begin to water them, hoping to revive their drooping leaves. While doing so, you remember that tomorrow you have a biology lab. Prof. Smith mentioned that during the lab, you will test the movement of water molecules across the plasma membrane of plant and animal cells. You realize that the process responsible for the movement of water into the plant cells, helping them regain their turgidity, is the same one you'll study in class. You are trying to remember the name of the process to explain the movement of water molecules. |
