Follow up visit with patient after a monthPatient reports that her pain levels are quite high and she has dizziness and headaches. In the clinical examination she has elevated BP and heart rate. You decide to order for some blood tests, a chest and a knee x-ray. You start thinking that you need to refer the patient to a rheumatologist, since her pain has been present for more than 3 months and probably to a pain clinic to help her learn ways to self-manage her pain better. You don't always have the time to do that yourself. Hopefully in the pain clinic they will educate your patient on using all available resources on managing chronic pain due to OA. |
