Intravenous antibiotics

You decide to start Jack on intravenous antibiotics for his chest infection. Following protocol, you select Amoxicillin as the most appropriate antibiotic.

 

Before discharge, you reassess him:

HR 125/min, RR 35/min, T 37.5 C, SaO2 91% in Oxygen

His chest findings are unchanged – mild recession and reduced air entry on the right side.
